Day 2, The Badlands.

We leave I90 at Cactus Flats.  At the Park Entrance to Badlands we make a confession, “We are 65.”

“Well, that entitles you to a Golden Age Pass for just $10, good for free admission to all National Parks for a year.”

I did not know you received at confession, I thought you just gave.  Should save us at least $60.

The Badlands were really good!

This area was once under a sea which silted in.
The pressure turned the deposits into rocks varying
in color from almost white to ochre and pink.
Over millions of years, erosion has removed the
softer parts leaving spikes and outcrops striped with
horizontal colors.

Badlands.

The wind is fierce. Everything at our picnic table
has a can or bottle on it to hold them down, but
we enjoy the sun.
