Day 14, Home and Postscript.

Mississippi.

We left Denver on Tuesday at 6:00am and drove 665 miles to Stuart, about 40 miles before Des Moines. As we cross Colorado into Nebraska and then Iowa, the land changes from scrub to grazing and then irrigated crops.

I have not seen corn irrigated before.

Nothing remarkable to record. We saw one jacknifed small trailer and SUV. Almost no Police.

We stay at an AmericInn, never heard of these before. Much like a Comfort Inn. Ordered in a pizza, cooked at the front desk. Same continental breakfast.

On Wednesday, we finish 325miles to Freeport, arriving home about 2:30pm. In all we have driven 3,884 miles.

John & Larry have done a fantastic job of watering, looking after the pond and feeding the birds. Our next door neighbor Loretta has the mail. Our other neighbor, Jerry, mowed three times.

We rescue Henry and Windsor.

Now it seems like home.

Washing, weeding ……………
